Collector’s Note
The Hamilton Calibre 699 occupies a special place among collectors due to its close relationship with the Cortebert 620 and 624 movements. These robust Swiss calibres became well known for their use in military and oversized wristwatch conversions, while related Cortebert architecture was also employed in the Rolex 618 movements found in early Panerai watches. Examples retaining the distinctive sunburst gear train are particularly sought after by enthusiasts of Cortebert, Hamilton and Panerai-related horology.
