Solid Silver Liverpool Key Winding Full Hunter Antique Pocket Watch

Antique solid silver key winding pocket watch fitted in a full hunter silver case.

The silver case carries silver hallmarks including the lion passant and maker’s mark EK. The case measures approximately 48mm excluding the bow and retains its original antique character.

The watch is fitted with a Liverpool movement. The balance appears to be in good condition. The watch winds and runs but does not continue running consistently and eventually stops. It appears to require servicing, cleaning and lubrication due to age.

Liverpool-made pocket watch movements were highly regarded during the nineteenth century and played an important role in the development of British watchmaking. Many surviving examples are now collected for their craftsmanship, traditional key-wind construction and historical significance.
