Vintage Landeron 248 Chronograph Watch Movement with Dial, Hands & Crown – Project
£300.00
Vintage Landeron 248 chronograph movement supplied with dial, hands, and crown. Balance appears good and the movement looks complete overall. Some surface rust is present on parts of the chronograph mechanism. Dial feet are broken and the dial is in poor condition. Sold as a restoration project.
A vintage Landeron calibre 248 chronograph watch movement, offered as a restoration project and supplied complete with its dial, hands, and crown.
The movement appears largely complete, and the balance seems to be in good condition and moves freely. Visually, the movement presents well overall, although some components, including parts of the chronograph lever system, show areas of surface rust. The corrosion appears limited and does not appear severe, but the movement should be inspected and serviced before any attempt at use.
The included dial is in poor condition, with significant signs of age and wear. The dial feet are broken, and restoration or replacement may be required depending on the intended project. The accompanying hands and crown are included as shown.
The Landeron 248 is one of the best-known manual wind chronograph calibres produced by Landeron during the mid-twentieth century. Part of the famous Landeron 48 family, these movements were widely used by numerous Swiss watch manufacturers and became respected for their practical chronograph design, reliability, and ease of servicing. Today, the calibre remains popular among collectors and watchmakers restoring vintage chronograph watches from the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.
This movement is sold as a project movement for restoration, repair, parts, or collection purposes. No guarantees are made regarding functionality or timekeeping performance.
